Flight Arrivals at Toulouse Airport
Toulouse Blagnac Airport is a major gateway to the Midi-Pyrenees region of France, and sees approximately 9 million passengers every year. This French airport (TLS) is regarded as a modern and efficient facility that has the capacity for its number of passengers, and offers several forms of ground transport. The Toulouse Blagnac Airport arrival halls are welcoming to foreign travelers, with everything that they will need in order to exchange currency, find hotel accommodation, collect a few useful articles before leaving and for acquiring information regarding the lovely area of Toulouse.
Toulouse is a fairly large city in Southern France, located just north of the border between France and Spain, to the west of Montpellier and Nimes and to the south of Limoges and Montauban. The city is regarded as an ideal tourist location, as in just a two hour drive visitors can reach either the sea, the ocean or the mountains, where a wide variety of activities are enjoyed. Toulouse is situated on the banks of the River Garonne, and is filled with charming historical buildings within the Vieux Quarter, or the Old Quarter. A number of beautiful churches and cathedrals are main attractions, and the Toulouse museums are always a wonderful and interesting outing. The Canal du Midi is a great part of the city as well, and is considered as the oldest canal in Europe that is still in use. These attractions and many more result in a large number of tourists arriving at the Toulouse Blagnac Airport.
The airport is a hub for Air France and EasyJet, and is served by many other airline companies as well. Flights are offered from international and other European countries to Toulouse Airport, such as London, Frankfurt, Munich, Brussels, Dublin, Algiers, Casablanca, Rome, Venice, Athens, Montreal and Madrid. Domestic flights arrive from Paris, Lille, Nantes, Marseille, Metz and Nice. The popular airline carriers at the airport, besides Air France and EasyJet, include Aigle Azur, Air Transat, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Eastern Airways, Iberia, KLM, Lufthansa, Royal Air Maroc, Tunisair, Turkish Airlines, Twin Jet and Vueling.
Arriving passengers will find that Toulouse Airport has a single terminal building that consists of four halls. Hall A was opened in June 2004 and is at the southern end of the terminal building. Mainly regional aircraft make use of Hall A. It is approximately 10,000 square meters in size, and has one baggage conveyor for incoming luggage. Hall B was opened in April of 1978, and is therefore the oldest hall of the airport. It is used by over three million passengers every year, and handles domestic Air France flights and Air France flights to and from Schengen Europe. It has two baggage conveyors and one oversize baggage conveyor. It is also about double the size of Hall A. Low-cost airline carriers may well arrive at Hall C that is approximately 30,000 square meters in size. It has two luggage conveyors. International flights will arrive at Hall D, a newer extension of the airport. This hall was built in 2010 and is 40,000 square meters in size. It has two baggage conveyors and one oversize baggage conveyor. Each hall has check-in counters and boarding gates for departing flights as well.
Passengers who would like to report lost or damaged luggage items should ask for the luggage department, and report the incident to the last airline company that transported their belongings. When the luggage was checked-in, a receipt should have been given to the customer, and this will be needed when reporting lost or damaged luggage.
Toulouse Airport has many facilities for its passengers. A business center is open from 07:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and features fully equipped offices and conference rooms. The airport also has a bank and cash dispensers, a Travelex branch selling travelers checks and exchanging over 35 currencies, a post office, photocopy machines, free WiFi connections and public telephones. Shops in the public area of the terminal include Relay, Tie Rack – Rolling Luggage, Donjon, Beauty Unlimited – L'Occitane and Ducs de Gascogne – Stade Toulousain. There are also many places to stop for a bite to eat at the airport.
Once ready to leave the airport, passengers have easy access to a number of good options for ground transportation. Airport Shuttle buses are available every twenty minutes, and do not require an advanced reservation. They travel to the city center of Toulouse and to various train stations in the city. Other public bus services are available as well, for a very low cost. Two coaches a day leave for Andorra as well, and stop at a variety of destinations. Alternatively, passengers can simply hop into a taxi outside of the arrival area, and travel comfortably and conveniently to any following destination. A taxi to the city center will cost about 22 Euro. There is no train station at Toulouse Airport, but trains are frequently used for transport within the city.
The Toulouse Airport car hire companies are found on the ground floor of the P2 parking building, and include Hertz, Budget, Avis, National, Sixt, Europcar and Alamo. In a rented car is a wonderful way to explore Toulouse and all the lovely areas that surround the city. Lower car rental rates can be achieved if an advanced reservation is made.
Passengers who have vehicles parked at the airport can make a payment at one of the automatic machines in the terminal, or can simply pay at the exit gate. Shuttles for the long-term parking areas (P5 and P6) leave from Hall D. Further details regarding Toulouse Blagnac Airport arrivals can be obtained from the airport at +33 1 70 46 74 74, or passengers can go to the information counters for assistance.
