Flight Departures at Toulouse Airport

Toulouse Blagnac Airport, with the official IATA code of TLS, is located approximately 6.7 km to the northwest of Toulouse, in the country of France. It is a French airport of note, as it handles almost seven million passengers every year, and is a well equipped establishment served by a large number of airline carriers. Passengers on Toulouse Blagnac Airport departure flights can reach over one hundred destinations, many of which are within the country of France, but also many that are international. The airport is a hub for Air France and EasyJet, a popular low-cost airline company. Departing passengers can also reach the airport by various forms of ground transportation.

Getting to Toulouse Airport is quite easy, whether it be by private motor vehicle or public transport. The airport is found partly in the area of Blagnac, and its main access road is the A621. Motorists will connect to the A620 that surrounds the city, and then follow directions for the airport. The drive will take just ten to twenty minutes from the city center. Once at the airport, there are several options for parking. The Express parking lots are used for short stays (up to ten minutes or up to three hours only), but the Proxipark areas are available for a few hours or a few days. They are also right by the terminal for easy access to the check-in facilities. Further parking options include the Ecoparks, ideal for longer term stays as they are less expensive. They are not at the terminal, and therefore have shuttle buses that provide transport to and from their locations. Additional time should be allowed for the shuttle transportation.

It is also possible for passengers on departure flights to travel to the airport by bus or taxi. The Airport Shuttle is a very popular form of ground transportation, and is available every twenty minutes from a couple of train stations and other locations in the city. A number of public buses are also available. A taxi is a good option for those who prefer to travel more privately, and can be called to collect you from any location in the city. A trip by taxi to Toulouse Airport from the city center will cost approximately 22 Euro. A variety of coaches serve the airport as well, for those travelling from further locations such as Andorra. There are no direct train services to Toulouse Airport.

Toulouse Airport departure flights are offered by many airline carriers. Those with domestic flights include Air France, Eastern Airways, Twin Jet and EasyJet, and a few of their destinations are Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice and Nantes. There are also a large number of airline companies that offer international flights and flights to other European countries from Toulouse Airport. Air France takes passengers to Casablanca, Rome, Seville, Venice and Malaga, British Airways flies to London, Brussels Airlines flies to Brussels, Iberia and Vueling offer flights to Barcelona and Madrid, KLM serves Amsterdam and Lufthansa is the best choice for flights to Frankfurt and Munich. EasyJet also offers a large number of flights to London, Madrid, Brussels and Rome, and seasonal flights by Aer Lingus, Air Algérie, Air Corsica, Air Transat and Jet2.com are available to Edinburgh, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Montreal, Ajaccio, Constantine and Dublin.

Departing passengers are recommended to arrive at least an hour before a national flight and at least two hours before an international flight or a charter flight. At the airport there are screens that display the departure times and check-in areas, or passengers can request assistance from the airline or tour operator desks. Although many passengers still use the conventional check-in counters, many nowadays prefer online check-in options. Online check-in can save time by avoiding the queues at the airport, and allow you to choose your seat. Once the process is complete, passengers can make their way to the airport and go directly to their gate of departure, should they have no hold luggage. If carrying luggage, passengers can hand in their baggage at a special counter provided. Online check-in options are only available for passengers with an electronic ticket, and for those who are not travelling with infants or any other special requirements, such as an unaccompanied minor.

Just an identity card will be required for those travelling inside the European Union and by passengers who are travelling to an overseas French department or territory, such as Reunion. Passengers who have booked their plane ticket as part of a package tour to certain foreign countries such as Morocco, Senegal, Hungary, Greece and Turkey, will only require an identity card for travel as well. Flights to other destinations will require the passenger to have a valid passport. Children up to the age of fourteen should be included on their parent's passport document.

The amount of luggage allowed on departure flights will depend on the airline company and the class of plane ticket purchased, and details can be found on your airline ticket. In general, the weight allowed for economy class luggage is 20kg, business class is 30kg and first class is 40kg. Luggage of 15kg is permitted on charter flights. Luggage should be well packed to facilitate security inspections, especially in the case of cabin luggage. No objects that may be considered as a weapon are allowed on board the aircraft in hand luggage. These items include knives, firearms, scissors, self-defence sprays, baseball bats and golf clubs. The rules surrounding the carrying of liquid substances in cabin luggage apply to passengers departing from Toulouse Airport as well.

The airport of Toulouse consists of a single terminal building with four halls, namely, Hall A, Hall B, Hall C and Hall D, from where flight operations are handled. International flights depart from Hall D, while many of the domestic Air France departures are handled from Hall B. Hall A is found at the southern end of the terminal building and is used for regional aircraft carriers, while Hall C is used by several carriers for flights to other French locations and European destinations. Hall C recently received new sales desks and a new retail area.

Facilities at the airport include a large number of shops and restaurants, a full-service bank and cash dispensers, Travelex for currency exchange services, a post office, vending machines, free WiFi internet connections, a business center, first-aid areas and a nursery. The "La Croix du Sud" Lounge is very modern and attractive, and ideal for passengers who prefer privacy before their flight. The entire airport complex is accessible to persons with disabilities, and various services are available to ensure their comfort. The MOUV+ counter is found in the Hall C departures area and is staffed by persons able to assist passengers with disabilities.
